choosing the light side

there are two paths I see ahead

one is narrow, straight and rocky

a few weary travelers step down

where wind is blowing softly, sweet

she turns aside to the other path that leads down

that’s where all the people are

that’s where they’re all going. down, down

concrete paved with luxury, that’s the way it is

seductive but black

down and down

she’s turning to the dark side

the light it shines gets brighter and brighter

I see it clearly, like two doors

like choosing life or choosing death

it’s so much easier just to fall away

are you falling away?

is my grip here strong enough?

can I survive yes with God’s help I can.

I can try my best but can’t turn her back

I have to warn her, have to say

but now her mind is made up

she’s on the road that’s leading down

she’s turning to the dark side

only so many tears can be cried

in the end justice is done

decisions made and lives slipped away

she’s slipping away to the dark side

but other ones they’re here they’re joining me

joining us on our journey for light

searching for God, learning so much

prayers of spirit and peace

turn us away from the dark side

we’re soaring away to the light side

we’ll be free forever on Jehovah’s side.

Scriptures: Matthew 7:13 “Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it;whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.”

John 17:3 “This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.”

John 8:32 “and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Planning

Proverbs 27:1 “Do not make your boast about the next day, for you do not know what a day will give birth to.”

This is a tricky piece of practical advice – many people, myself included, like to plan. I tend to get excited and will talk about stuff for the next day – though it may not actually happen, and that is very disappointing. If we’re more aware that it may/may not happen the world does not come crashing down when the anticipated thing doesn’t come to pass!

And as for boasting – that just makes it worse. Ego gets on a high from raising itself over others and then crashes down when it realises…. it was wrong! 😀

This was the proverb I flipped open today and what I got from it. I’d welcome any comments. 😀

Proverbs 11:7 “When a wicked man dies, his hope perishes; and even expectation based on powerfulness has perished.”

Death is the end to their life – for people who love Jehovah God, death is not the end. We have a hope to live forever that is not killed by death. Our memory in God’s hands is not destroyed. This is very nice for me to know, that even if I die that is not the end for me.

When I wake up it will seem as if no time has passed. God’s Kingdom is only as far away as each of our lifetimes. 😀

What will happen to the wicked?

Psalms 37:11 “But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, and they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.”

Matthew 5:5 “Happy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth.”

Peaceful earth

Meek – obedient to God. Mild-tempered – slow to anger, peaceful, enduring.

These ones will possess, or inherit, the earth.

People will live on an Earth made new, in Paradise.

What will happen to the wicked or evil people then? People have different thoughts on that.  Hell is a well known belief.

What did Jesus teach about Hell?

Where the fire burns and they are dead forever. Gehenna was a rubbish dump where they burned the bodies of bad people.

This is what I believe about what will happen to the wicked ones. As for the ones who love God – can you imagine Paradise? The above picture says a little of what it means to me. I love trees and how all creation works together in a perfect rhythm. I love the design, and I love the designer, Jehovah God, and I love the one who helped make it all, Jesus (the Master Worker).

God’s Creation

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1

Can you make a tree?

So complex so beautiful I love God – He created trees

It is a mad world

2 Timothy 3:1-5 is perhaps known to some of you already, detailing what people in the last days would be like.

I was not aware, though, that this came after it: v9 “Nevertheless, they will make no further progress, for their madness will be very plain to all, even as the madness of those two men became.”

[The ‘two men’ were Jannes and Jambres, Egyptian priests, I believe, at the time of the Ten Plagues.]

Have you heard people say ‘it’s a mad world’? It is and it will be.

There will be many bad people in these last days. And their madness will be very plain to all.

So with that I am going to publish my post. 🙂

a poem

so trying as we do so hard

to make a name

to be Successful

to live a Life

to be envied in this world through gold and silver shiny

watches, fast cars and parties

so many friends

who’ll shake our hands

smile and make deals and

won’t stop in the street if you ever need help why don’t they stop?

swimming so deep in the waters of Success and

drowning

searching for ways to live forever

finally struggling on to the land and saying goodbye to

everything worked so hard for

it floats away on the breeze and we realize

that’s all it was ever doing

flying away from us

as we chased it

desperate to hold it to us it meant our lives

but took our lives away

for we did not listen for anything else but

the rustling of its silver wings

John 17:3 This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.
